A Conceptual Analysis of Ontological Security
Abstract
This paper has two objectives. The first aim is to introduce the concept of ontological security, to show its sociological sources and its translation into the field of International Relations. Secondly, by using the conceptual analysis frame suggested by David A. Baldwin, it aims at both consolidating the current knowledge about the ontological security-seeking behaviour of states and other actors and suggesting a useful analytical tool for further detailed research on ontological security in International Relations.
