Sophistry of Strategy and Policy

Abstract

The number of studies and books dedicated to American strategy has already reached such a scale in the USA that it was difficult even for experts to keep up with basic overview. Certainly this reason leads to the fact that here recently and practically simultaneously sent two sorniks with the aim of submitting if possible, a representative selection of works from this area. There are of course differences in selected by the authors, in the arrangement and especially in the commentary of the editors of both anthologies.

First collection published by an expert of the center for the research of international politics at Harvard University by H. A. Kissinger, he indicates the thesis of his focus with the title Problems of National Strategy. The second collection also has theses in military strategy, even if it is presented somewhat differently entitled American Defense Policy. It was published at the initiative of the Air Force Academy, but here too it was prepared by the political science department. It is certainly not by chance that the introduction emphasizes that he understands the researched area as a part political sciences.
