On Some Questions of the Czechoslovak-German Relations in Recent History

Abstract

In the recent history of Europe, after the French Revolution, three major attempts were made to organize Europe based on the decisions of the leading powers. Right after the Napoleonic Wars, the Congress of Vienna tried not only to determine the borders between different European countries, but also to create a permanent organization of the great powers or their leading and ruling circles. As is known, the Holy Alliance was the determining force of international relations for almost two generations, and only the revolution in 1848 shook this factor once and for all and started a new era development of the European continent.


At the Berlin Congress in the seventies of the last century, above all the question of the new organization of southern and south-eastern Europe, which with showed urgency after the collapse of Turkey's decisive influence and the emergence of a united Italy. An agreement was also reached at this congress, which the ruling circles of European powers decided the fate of this part of Europe.
