The Czech Journal of International Relations (CJIR) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Institute of International Relations since 1957. Published previously in Czech and English and from 2023 in English only, the journal primarily focuses on scholarly work based in International Relations (IR). However, it also welcomes contributions from other disciplines if they are broadly relevant for IR.
The journal’s scope is not theoretically or geographically limited, yet it aspires to promote research that resonates in the Central European context (broadly conceived). As such, the journal in recent years featured articles ranging from the politics of NATO strategic partnerships, through the institutional shape of large international organizations, the role of non state actors in the conflict in Ukraine to gender analysis of the IR knowledge-production in the Czech Republic.
Being included in the Web of Science Emerging Sources Citation Index and Scopus, the CJIR is the right place for publications on European politics, international institutions, small states, environmental politics, great power competition, international conflicts, migration and the like. We are particularly interested in pieces illustrating the impacts of the Ukraine war on Europe and the rest of the world.
The journal subscribes to a rigorous peer review process and the Editorial Team works with international reviewers. The CJIR takes pride in fast and careful editorial work with the submitted manuscripts and provides a pre-review editorial feedback. After the manuscript has been accepted for peer-review, in most cases we manage to give final decision within 60 days.
Kindly submit your manuscript via the online submission system. For any inquiries, don't hesitate to contact the editor-in-chief at michal.kolmas@mup.cz.
